This depends on whether or not you are brewing hot or cold, but the suggested standard ratio for hot tea is 1 teaspoon of leaves per 6-8 oz of water.  Naturally light or fluffy leaved teas will taste best with more leaves.  Just be sure to leave room for the leaves to expand. Packing a tea ball tight with tea leaves will not result in the best tasting tea. But experiment to find what works best for you. 

When hot: use  just prior to boiling water when preparing a dark, black, dark oolong and herbal blends, and a bit cooler 175F when steeping light oolong, green and white teas. 

If you steep the tea longer than recommended, it will turn bitter. 

When cold brewing: use 1 tbsp per 16 oz of water. Steeping the tea in an infuser overnight makes for a flavorful iced tea. Check out our mason jar infuser kit for cold brews. Consume cold brews within 3 days.

If you steep longer than the recommended time (thinking it will make stronger flavor) your tea will likely get bitter not stronger in flavor.  It is best to steep for the time recommended for best extraction of benefits as well as accurate flavor profile.

There are no added sugars in our teas, but some of our blends have dried fruits or chocolate bits and may contain trace amounts of natural sugars. 

Please refer to the ingredient list on each tea to determine which teas contain your allergens. When mixing and blending, we are meticulous about not allowing cross contamination of blends. 

Yes, you can use your leaves 2 or 3 times with adding a bit more steeping time, but we recommend doing so in the same sitting and discarding afterwards.
