An Ounce of Cure: How One Cup of Tea a Day Can Strengthen Your Health

We’ve all heard the old proverb:

“An ounce of cure is worth a pound of prevention.”

But somewhere along the way, modern life convinced us that prevention has to be complicated. That health is only something discussed in exam rooms. That healing comes in white coats, sterile chairs, and waiting rooms with daytime TV humming in the background.

The truth? Prevention can begin in your kitchen.
With a kettle.
And a mug.
And about three

Rethinking Gastric Cancer Prevention

1. A Silent Threat Behind Many Gastric Cancers

Helicobacter pylori, is now recognized by the WHO and IARC as a Group 1 carcinogen, a definitive cause of gastric cancer. Despite this, the infection often remains undetected for years, progressing silently from mild gastritis to ulcers and in some cases, malignant transformation. New global guidelines are urging medical systems to consider screen-and-treat strategies aimed at identifying and eliminating H. pylori early, especially in high-risk populations.

2. Shifting from Treatment to Prevention: A Public Health Pivot

Detox Without Too Much Drama

Let’s be real: when most people hear the word detox, they either picture drinking swamp-colored smoothies for a week or locking themselves in the bathroom with regret.

But here’s the good news: detoxing doesn’t have to be that extreme, painful, or require you to give up your will to live.

Your body is already equipped with natural detox systems—your liver, kidneys, skin, and gut are working overtime to keep things moving. But sometimes, with modern life (hello processed food, mystery ingredients, and whatever that gas station snack

Cold brewing tea is super simple and brings out smooth, naturally sweet flavors with less bitterness.

Use 1–2 teaspoons of loose leaf tea per 8 oz (1 cup) of cold, filtered water.

2. Let it steep (great use for a mason jar)
Pop it in the fridge and steep for 6–12 hours, depending on the tea type:

Food Pairings and Tea

In our most recent email survey a customer suggestion was made for specific food pairings with various teas.  We thought that was a fantastic idea!   Once we announce our Spring/Summer choices (and there ARE some clear winners from your survey feedback), we will announce food pairings for those options as well.

Pairing food with tea can enhance both flavors, just like pairing wine with food. Here are some great food pairings for different types of tea, so it all depends on it’s base:

The Role of Herbs in Early and Modern Medicine: Nature’s Pharmacy

Before opening the tea shop, and at the start of my personal wellness journey, I kept running across various types of targeted online posts and ads for ways to enhance my journey.  Scrolling through social media or browsing health stores, it’s impossible to miss the flood of ads promising miraculous results from expensive supplements. Perhaps you have seen them?

From stress & hormone imbalance relief to immune & gut support, these bottles boast solutions to common ailments—often at steep prices - often $40-$80 per bottle, per 30 day supply.

The lymphatic system is a crucial component of our body’s immune and detoxification processes. It transports lymph—a clear fluid containing white blood cells—throughout the body, aiding in the removal of toxins, waste, and other unwanted materials. A well-functioning lymphatic system is essential for maintaining overall health and vitality.

Signs of a Sluggish Lymphatic System

When the lymphatic system becomes sluggish or congested, it can lead to various health issues. Common signs include:

Sip Your Way to a Sharper Mind: How Tea Supports Memory & Brain Health

This topic came up at our local Chamber of Commerce meeting this morning, so I figured I’d write an article about it.

If you’re looking for a simple and enjoyable way to support your brain health, you might not have to look further than your teacup! Research suggests that drinking tea regularly may help enhance memory, boost cognitive function, and even reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s. Let’s explore the science behind tea’s brain-boosting benefits.

The Science Behind Tea and Memory

Tea—particularly green, black, and oolong varieties—is packed with

Disturbing Cancer Incidence Rates

I can’t stop thinking aboout the news story I heard the other day:

The Cancer Incidence Rate for Women Under 50 Rises Above Men’s.  Click Here to Read the article about it from the Amercan Cancer Society>

I lost my mom several years ago to breast cancer when she was in her late 50s, so obviously this topic has a personal story for me, as it does way too many. And if it does for you too - I am deeply sorry. It’s truly a messed up world we are in when the food we eat, the medicines we are given and enviroment we have to live in are just filled with toxins and posions.  But there is something you can do to help you feel better

Where Do We Source Our Ingredients?

TLDR:  We source our ingredients from strictly U.S based suppliers. However, many of the best tea estates are in the U.K, Africa, India, Japan and of course, China. This is due to climate, soil conditions, elevation, labor etc.

We are releasing a series of tisanes & herbal blends featuring ingredients grown only in the U.S! We are calling it our Rooted in America series.

We are also in discussion with the few U.S based tea farms to hopefully develop a partnership that allows us to keep prices as low as possible.  There aren’t many - and they tend to be boutique, very expensive & limited in supply, so stay tuned.   Just know - keeping costs low while maintaining variety and quality is our top priority.
